Teach Me Your Ways - David Michael Carrillo

David Michael Carrillo is an ordained Calvary Chapel pastor and worship leader who has had the honor and privilege of ministering in worship and the Word to numerous Calvary Chapel fellowships, regional pastors' conferences, and men’s and youth retreats internationally.

As a "Musicianary," he has a deep heart for Latvia and the former Soviet Union countries. David Michael works closely with SONetwork, a ministry with outreaches in Latvia, Albania, Slovakia, Ukraine, and other Eastern European nations, to share the Gospel and serve the communities in these regions.

David Michael began his ministry training at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa between 1987 and 1991. During this time, he became actively involved in the Monday Night Bible Study with Pastor Chuck Smith and led worship for various Bible studies and services hosted by Calvary Chapel.

Working alongside different pastors who led these ministries taught David Michael to be receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and flexible in supporting the leadership of the pastors.

In 1990, after the release of his first worship recording, "In The Quiet Moments", which received airplay on KWVE 107.9 FM, David Michael began traveling full-time, responding to invitations from other Calvary Chapels for ministry.

David Michael’s Bible-teaching ministry was birthed out of the invitations he began receiving from "Mainline" Churches. He applied the "verse-by-verse" approach to the Bible texts assigned for each Sunday and soon found himself invited to speak at various churches beyond the Calvary Chapel fellowships, including Lutheran, Methodist, Reformed, and Baptist congregations.

For the past 38 years, David Michael has been in awe of the doors the Lord has opened for him as a worship leader, Bible teacher, and conference speaker, allowing him to travel

throughout the United States and to several countries overseas.

David Michael remains very active in ministry, crediting his home church, Calvary Chapel on the Horizon in Indianapolis, Indiana, which has ordained and supports him in his ministry. His home church continues to support his outreach to the Mainline churches as an Evangelist and his mission as a "Musicianary" to Latvia and beyond.

David Michael is very passionate for the Lord. It comes out in both his teaching of the Word and in leading others in Worship. He is willing to “get in the trenches” and meet people right where there are…regardless of where that may be”. His Call to Latvia

In December of 2007, David Michael was introduced to the ministry of SONetwork.org, an organization with outreaches in Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Ukraine, and other post-Soviet countries. David Michael partnered with SONetwork and, in the summer of 2008, traveled to Latvia to serve at the Latvia English Bible Camp.

It was during his third visit to Latvia in the summer of 2010 that David Michael felt a strong calling to return in the fall of that year for a 3-month short-term mission trip. That trip has now turned into 15 years of living and serving the people of Latvia and beyond.

During his time in Latvia, David Michael was adopted by Kristaps, Līga, and Markuss, who made him a part of their family and lovingly referred to him as “dad.”

Through David Michael's speaking and singing engagements in the States, he can raise his mission support allowing him to continue his missionary work in Latvia and beyond.

David Michael would love the opportunity to come and share his heart, music, and message with your fellowship.

He is now scheduling for "A Step At A Time' tour from, August 10th through November 9th, 2025.

He is available for Sunday services, midweek services, evening concerts, School chapel services, home groups, conferences, and retreats. Below are links about his mission work and speaking & music ministry.

He does not charge for his ministry and is glad to receive whatever the Lord puts on the pastor's heart. The only request we ask is for gas and a family from the fellowship that would be open to hosting him during his time with you. All offerings, donations, and product sales support David Michael's continuing mission work in Latvia and beyond.
